Northwood Lions Club was founded in November 1987 and now has 20 members, male and female, young and old, who enjoy working together for the good of the community of Northwood.
In common with the 920 other Lions Clubs in the British Isles and Ireland, we have many fundraising events that enable us to fund our community services. Five years ago, we resurrected the idea of a Northwood Carnival and we have now raised many thousands of pounds for local charities from this event, held on August Bank Holiday each year and our major fundraising event. The numbers of residents attending each year seems to grow and this is encouraging for the ongoing success of the event.
One major contributory factor to the ongoing success of this club is our varied social programme that includes trips to the theatre, rambles followed by Sunday lunch, quizzes and bowling challenges against other clubs in a local pub.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at
